MYEP Services and Programs

Career Exploration

Career exploration helps teach youth the things they need to know to get ready for work. Training includes both hard and soft skills. At the same time, there are secondary benfits; kids in the program stay productively occupied.

Summer Employment

MYEP offers several different opportunities for competative summer employment. Full-time jobs are available to several area youth ages 16-21, many of whom come from low income, minority, or other targeted backgrounds. These summer employment opportunities are primarily grant funded.

Career Counseling

Career counseling helps young job seekers to find a job that is right for them. This one on one service helps participants to discover the type of careers that suit their intrests. Specific services may include assistance with job seeking, developing interview skills, resume writing, and much more.

Teenplace (After school and summer)

MYEP offers an after school and summer program for youth with disabilities. While in the community, participants proceed to work on individualized goals with our staff. We are also available on "no school" days.
The participants are involved in a variety of activities with much emphasis on consumer choice and empowerment. Life skills, employment skills, education, team building, community service, and recreational activities are just a few of the varied opportunities available to participants of Teenplace.
